Our 2017 Christmas Celebration

christmas table decor

Hello everyone, how is your Christmas celebration so far? I'm sure you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

We are in the process of moving from California to Washington. As for now, we're living between two states, my husband and I; every other month, we have a trip to California to finalize the rest of the moving process. But, on the other hand, my kids have already settled down and started school; it seems like they love it here in Washington. They made friends and have a huge backyard to play with, and the crisp, clean air is much better here in Washington, where the temperature is so friendly compared to scorching hot California.

This Christmas, we decided to celebrate in Washington state with friends and family; it was one of our best choices, and we had a wonderful white Christmas. This is our first experience of white Christmas, so much different from when we were in California; we had to drive an hour away to play in the snow; here in Washington, the snow is only one step away from the door. The kids have so much fun playing in the snow, and we feel blessed that we decided to move here to Washington state.

And here is a peek at our Christmas celebration:

The table centerpieces, mostly made of leaves and plants for the yard, had abundant pine leaves, pine cones, and red berries. I paint the tip of the pine cone to resemble snow falling in the backyard. And I added flowers that I bought from the supermarket.

I bought The small snow globes place card from Target years ago; I kept it and used it occasionally in the wintertime. The good thing about it is not just for Christmas; you can use it in the winter season when you entertain your guests for dining at home.

The wooden blog under the place card, my brother-in-law, made it from the tree in the back yard that he cut it. Unfortunately, we had to cut some trees too close to the house during the windy season to prevent a falling tree accident.

These are pictures of delicious Pineapple tart and Speculaas cookies.

Pineapple tart and Speculaas cookie is the Christmas tradition we inherited from our Netherlands ancestors.

When I was growing up, my mom always baked this cookie every Christmas; it's a tradition in our family, and I diligently attend to carry it out with my family. So, we will serve this delicious cookie every Christmas to our guests.

Usually, we ate this cookie with hot cocoa or a coffee drink.

I think this is the cheapest Christmas tree I have ever had; I bought it from Walmart and flogged it using it.

After the party ended and all the guests went home, I always made a particular time with my daughter for hot cocoa before she went to sleep.

Thank you so much for reading; I Wish you a Merry Christmas!

With love,
