We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but most of the time either we skipped the breakfast or is just easy to grasp any food ignoring the fact that some of the easy to go breakfast are unhealthy. In our hectic morning, breakfast seems like isn't that important. I had to force my kids to finish their meal, and my husband couldn't be careless enough for what he eats.
So is up to me to make sure my family eats a healthy breakfast every day.
I found an easy way to have healthy and delicious breakfast that doesn't require lots of time to prepare. In fact, this is fast, easy to make and very convenient, most of the time I did this in the night before I go to bed, so in the morning my husband and my kids can just grab the breakfast and go.
I love oatmeal overnights, but in the Winter time would be too cold for freezing Washington state weather. So this is a breakfast recipe for a cold morning. You can cook it at night and just keep it in the thermos to keep it warm until morning or I usually prepare it at night before I go to sleep, I use an electric kettle to warm up the milk so I can do some other things while waiting for the milk. Usually only take three to five minutes to prepare the breakfast, and I use the Thermos Water bottle because it has a broader mouth so is easy for me to pour all the ingredients inside, and it will keep it warm for at least eight hours.

Ingredients:
1/2 Quaker oats
1 cup milk or vanilla soy milk
1 table spoon of roasted almond
1 table spoon of dried fruit such sweet cherries, dried cranberries, sliced dried Mango or peach.
2 table spoon of honey, maple syrup or any sweetener
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Half tea spoon of cinnamon (optional)
Eat with any fresh fruit, I love to eat it with banana ( optional)
Direction:
If you want to cook it from the night before:
In a saucepan bring 1 cups of milk and pinch of salt and bring it to boiling. Stir in half cup of Oatmeal, reduce the heat and add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat. And to keep it warm till morning transfer it to bottle sport thermos.
This is the easy way
1. Put the oatmeal, roasted almond, dried fruits, honey, salt inside the thermos.
2. In a saucepan heat up the milk and bring it to boil. If you use an Electric Kettle is only going to take 2-3 minutes.
3. Pour the hot milk inside the thermos and close the lid. Shake the thermos until all mixed together.
4. Leave it overnight for breakfast. This way the hot milk will soften the oatmeal so it'll ready to eat in the morning.
5. For breakfast eat it with your favorite fresh fruit. Shake it first before you eat it.
