5 Romantic Ways to Do at Home On Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is just around the corner. So whether you are spending the day with someone special or only with friends and family, here are some romantic things you can do on this fantastic day set aside for love.

Many people celebrate their love for their partner on this particular day with over-the-top gifts money can buy, such as jewelry pieces, dining at a fancy restaurant, and expensive champagne. But to tell the truth, Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to let small romantic gestures shine; you don't need a fancy gift to make this day more special than it is. And love can be expressed in many shapes and forms. So why small love gesture couldn't get a chance to celebrate love day little more than a shiny gift?

Valentine's day should be what we make of it and nothing more.

Since Valentine's day celebration is just about a few days away, let's talk about romantic ideas we can give our loved ones.

A great gift is not just a store-bought item but also something you created yourself or romantic gestures that you can do for your partner; this gift should be extraordinary and priceless because it takes time and effort. And to me, it has special meaning because it creates happy memories for you and your love.

Here are five ways we can make the most of this special day!

1. A romantic Candlelight Dinner for two

things to do at home on Valentine's day

Since severe weather is sweeping across the country and some places like mine are covered in thick snow, you probably want to stay home and opt for a more straightforward celebration. If you wish to avoid a crowded and long waiting line restaurant, especially on Valentine's Day, consider cooking dinner, indulging in a sweet treat, and renting a movie at home to celebrate Valentine's day.

How to do it:

Prepare at least three-course meals, appetizer, main course, and dessert. You can prepare the food yourself or order from your favorite restaurant. Dress up your table and decorate your place nicely. Although you don't have to go over the top, having fresh flowers and many candles will bring a romantic ambiance to the room.

Dress up nice and put up some makeup; after all, it is a special night, so you want to look extra special but also comfortable because after dinner, you want to cozy up together on the sofa to watch your favorite movie and don't forget the champagne! The rest of the night, I'll leave it to your creativity.

My favorite romantic movies to watch:

2. Relaxing Bath

thing to do at home on valentine's day

Again, as I said in my previous post," who doesn't like to have a relaxing bubble bath after a hectic day?!"

You can surprise your partner with a warm bath after he gets home from work.

How to do it: This isn't directly on how to do "Things" inside the bathtub; whatever you do is your own business; I don't think you need direction for that, LOL. ( I'm trying hard to be funny)

Ok, let's get serious again:

Don't forget to buy your favorite bubble bath soap, or you can do some DIY like this Rose and Lavender tea bath salt.

Ensure you clean and prepare the bath at least 30 minutes before his arrival and keep the water warm. Have two bathrobes and towels ready. Decorate the restroom with candles, and rose petals ( scattered inside the bathtub) and put a vase of fresh flowers in the corner. Dim the light, and don't forget to play some romantic music.

Have a small table, wine cart, or chair, and put your favorite wine, chocolates, some fruits, or strawberry Chocolate Covered ready by the bathtub so both of you can enjoy while you submerge inside the bubbles.

3. Relaxing Massages

Visiting a spa or hiring a professional is a sweet treat, but if you plan to celebrate Valentine's Day at home, why not try a DIY approach? Offering partner massages can be hopelessly romantic, especially on this particular day.

Here's a tip to do a special gift of DIY couples massage a success on Valentine's Day and Beyond; this is what you need to do:

To create a peaceful and loving environment, decorate the room with vases of fresh flowers on the nightstand and scattered rose petals on the floor and bed. Make sure to put some candles; essential oils can add to the experience and increase the alluring aroma to help relax a warm and tidy environment.

Relax and have fun; these are some of the best essential oil and oil carrier for massage therapy.

  • Be sure to be ready with oil, almond oil, grapeseeds oil, olive oil, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, and avocado oil; these are essential oil carriers you must mix with essential oil.

  • By mixing the carrier oil with essential oil, you should ALWAYS DILUTE your essential oils before applying them on the skin. For example, combine one fluid ounce (30 ml) of carrier oil with 18 drops of essential oil. This makes about 2% dilution, which is common and considered safe for adults. For sensitive skin, use the ratio of 1 fluid ounce of carrier oil to 6 drops of essential oil. Always start conservatively! You can constantly adjust the amount later for a more intense aroma. But first, make sure that it works well with your skin.

  • The lavender essential oil is known for its relaxing properties, while Sandalwood contains sedative components that can help create a tranquility and relaxation environment.

  • Angelica essential oil, known as "Oil of angels," is excellent for calming the nerves and muscles and promoting happiness. Help brings a peaceful sleep and relieves stress.

  • Geranium essential oil is known for its relaxing and uplifting effects. In traditional medicine, geranium is also used to promote better circulation, improve the nervous system, and even revitalize the body tissue.

  • Citrus can invigorate and stimulate the mood, so if you want to have extra fun, look for it.

  • Peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil promotes circulation, relieves tight muscles, and reduces headaches and sinus problems.

  • Coriander essential oil is sweet and warm, bringing a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. It is also known for promoting healthy digestive system and circulatory systems.

  • To have exotic ambient, you can use oranges, figs, and ylang-ylang. This essential oil smells divine.

  • Hinoki essential oil is known to bring an energizing mood that relaxes the body when applied, calming the nerves and relieving brief agitation.

Additional items that you will need:

1. Put a towel prepared to pick up any spills.

2. Use a pillow under the ankles and one for the neck and face when they face down. And Prop the pillow under the knees when they face up

3. You can use your fingers (but make sure your nails are short), Knuckles, fists, and forearms for massages. Work your way around your partner's body, using long, broad strokes with your arm, and always work in the same direction with your heart.

The basic principle is to start slow and loving, and a gentle touch can benefit the body and mind. Nice deliberate motions in a slow path help with relaxation. You and your partner deserve to be nourished with full attention. Our body system loves slow, repetitious movements and gentle pressures. Enjoy the time you've set aside to experience each other.

4. Do Manicures Together

Who says doing a manicure is the only fun thing to do with your gal pal? So why not do it with your partner? A lot of men love manicures too. And since you will celebrate Valentine's Day at home, why not bring the beauty spa to the comfort of your house? Give him a manicure as a sweet gesture, and I'm sure it'll be fun to do for Valentine's Day. You don't have to hire a professional; you can do it yourself. Because who knew Men loves manicure as much as a woman does?

How to do it? Let him/her sit back and relax, and put on some soothing music for him/her to enjoy the moment. To get the most amazing experience on a DIY manicure for Valentine's Day, implement yourself with the following products:

  • Rose Water

  • 9 drops of tree tea essential oil

  • 1 liter full-fat cream milk

  • 2 bowls

  • 5 tsp sugar

  • 1 lemon cut in halves

  • 4 tsp Olive Oil

  • 4 tsp fresh cream

  • 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder

  • towels

  • Liquid hand soap

  • 1 nail brush, 1 nail file, 1 pumice stone

Direction:

1. File nail and apply fresh cream on your hand, especially around your fingers 2. Dip into a hot milk bowl and add a teaspoon of olive oil. 3. Keep in warm milk for about five minutes and slough off the dead skin with a loofah on your hands and nails. 4. Use the liquid hand soap to brush the nail clean. 5. Keep gently cleaning your hand with liquid soap and pumice stone, circulate your hand, and go up to your elbow. This will make your skin smoother. 6. Massage your hand with fresh cream. 7. Dip the lemon into the sugar and pat it on the skin. Squeeze gently and scrub until the sugar and the lemon absorb into your skin.

8. Pat dry your hands, mix the sandalwood powder, 9 drops of tree tea essential oil, 1.5 fluid oz of sweet almond oil, apply like a hand mask, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water, pat dry spread rose water, and let it dry. You'll see beautiful smooth skin.

5. Breakfast in bed

things to do at home on Valentines's day

This one is super easy to do; it's more fun to go in additional effort when preparing it. So here are some tips for making breakfast in bed extra special.

All you need to do is wake up early and put small vases of flowers on both side tables to make the room smell good and look beautiful. Sprinkle some flower petals on the tray and the bed. Lay a single flower down on the tray or arrange it with a small bouquet of fresh flowers; put some cut fresh fruit and any delicious breakfast you can think of for you and your partner to enjoy. I suggest Red Velvet Pancakes with Homemade Blackberry Sauce and Dragon fruit pancakes. Don't forget to turn the morning music on to create a cheerful mood.

Thank you so much for reading; I hope it can be your inspiration.

Much love and Happy Valentine's Day!

Joice
