DIY Lipbalm For Dry Lips

DIY Lipbalm For Dry Lips

I can't believe we enter the second day of March, and In Southern California, this would be the start of Spring when the sun is bright, and the flowers bloom. But, unfortunately, Washington's story differs; winter seems to stay longer. It is still cold and wet, so when other bloggers start wearing all these lovely spring dresses, I'm a bit jealous because I still struggle to adjust to cold days in Washington.

This winter has been so hard on our skin, especially on my little girl; it's her first winter in Washington, and she has a hard time adjusting to the weather, and her skin turn to worst. She got red, dry, and itchy patches all over her body. Her face got so dry you could see the wrinkle when she smiled; she was only nine. She shouldn't have lines on her face. Her lips chapped and had blisters; it hurt when she ate or even smiled. the other day I found her crying and said, "Mommy, I am a shame of my body and face; I want my old skin back." It breaks my heart to hear her say that.

Finally, we brought her to the doctor, who prescribed her Hydrocortisone and a special lotion to heal and moisturize her dehydrated skin. Eventually, her skin improved, but the lips still dried and chapped; although we tried several lip balms, nothing worked well on her lips except ridiculing an expensive lip balm from a high-end store that cost around $10 to $25. So, I decided to make my own; I will be more content with the ingredients since she has sensitive skin. After using my lip balm for a day, her lips start to improve, and now, it heals entirely, and she is as happy as before.

I have confidence in using a lip balm that I made myself because I know all the ingredients I put together, and it is a lot more affordable than a high-end store lip balm but with superior qualities and also easy to make. So here, I would like to share the recipe with you:

Ingredients:

Direction:

1. Melt beeswax, Shea butter, and Coconut Oil in a small glass bowl over the small pot (you can use a small pan also) of boiling water, constantly stirring until melted.

2. Remove from the bowl from the heat and mix the honey and essential oils.

3. Pour into the lip balm tubes or tins.

Notes: Essential oil is very concentrated, and because of that, it's always a good idea to dilute some of the oil and test it on your skin before using it to ensure you don't have

adverse reaction.

The recipe makes 18-20 lip balm tubes or 5 small containers and 2 ounces of lip balm.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Love!

xoxo
