DIY Lipbalm For Dry Lips

DIY Lipbalm For Dry Lips

I can't believe we enter the second day in March, and In Southern California, this would be the start of Spring when the sun is bright, and the flowers start to bloom. Although Washington has a different story, it seems Winter will stay a little bit longer. It still cold and wet here, so when other bloggers start wearing all these lovely and beautiful spring dresses, here I am, still struggle to adjust myself to cold days in Washington.

This winter it has been so hard on our skin especially on my little girl, it's her first winter in Washington, she has a hard time to adjust to the weather, and her skin took the worst. She got red, dry, and itchy patches all over her body her face got so dried you can see the wrinkle when she smiled and she only nine years old, she shouldn't have lines on her face. Her lips chapped and blisters to the point that it hurts when she eats or even smiled. One day I found her crying and said, "Mommy, I am a shame of my body and face, I want my old skin back." It breaks my heart to hear her say that.

Finally, we brought her to the doctor, and she got prescribe by a doctor with Hydrocortisone and a special lotion to heal and moisturize her dehydrated skin. Eventually, her skin got better, but the lips still dried and chapped, although we tried several lip balms and nothing works well on her lips except a ridicules an expensive lip balm from the high-end store that cost around $10 to $25. So, I decided to make my own; I will be more content with the ingredients since she has sensitive skin. After using my lip balm for a day her lips start to make lots of improvement, and now, it heals entirely, and she is an as happy girl as before.

I have confidence in using a lip balm that I made myself because I know all the ingredients that I put on it and is a lot affordable than high-end store lip balm, also is so easy to make. Here, I would like to share the recipe with you:

Ingredients:

Direction:

1. Melt beeswax, Shea butter and Coconut Oil in small glass bowl over small pot (you can use small pan also) of boiling water, stirring constantly until melted.

2. Remove from the bowl from the heat and mix the honey and essential oils.

3. Pour into the lip balm tubes or tins.

Notes: Essential oil are very concentrated, because of that it's always a good idea to dilute some of the oil and test it on your skin before using it, to make sure you don't have negative reaction.

The recipe makes about 18-20 tubes of lip balm or 5 small container 2 ounce of lip balm.

Thank you so much for stopping by, loves!
