Before I realized the Winter season is over, with a change in weather comes cold and flu. No matter what I do to prevent and protect my family from escaping the virus, we are bound to get one cold a year. This flu happened mostly in changing seasons from winter to warm weather, especially when all the activities just began our body wearying and inevitably came down with a cold.
Usually, I treated the common cold and flu with over the counter medicine. But when you irritate with inflamed nose and throat, medicate yourself round the clock, and yet no improvement. You know you need something more, something that can help soothe the pain.
While we know that nothing we can do to cure a common cold completely, and the antibiotic is not an option, there are fantastic home remedies passed along throughout the generations to help ease the symptoms.
This natural cough reliever and flu-fighting hot drink are easy to do with minimal effort to make, especially when you are not feeling well, and you need much rest.
Here is a remarkable home remedy that I've been taking since I was a little girl. Although I got used to the taste, apparently, my kids need to learn to like it, and so far, they did a good job.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoon of raw honey or the best is Manuka honey: coats the throat. It provides some relief and has mild antibacterial properties that reduce inflammation and attack the bacteria that cause pain.
2 inches Lemon Grass: are enriched with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help decongestant your respiratory system
Half-cut of Lemon or Lime: the astringent juice will help shrink swollen throat tissue and create a hostile (acidic) environment for viruses and bacteria.
2 inches Ginger is a natural analgesic that can soothe the sore throat's irritation and anti-inflammatory.
1-inch fresh tumeric or 1 teaspoon powder Tumeric or 1 drop essential oil. Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound that may have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. It is also beneficial for conditions such as dry cough.
1 cup of water
Suppose you have a cough mix 1 drop eucalyptus essential oil in your cup. Eucalyptus oil has the benefit of silence cough, and it can also help to get the mucus out of your chest.

Direction:
Put water, ginger, turmeric, and lemongrass on the small pan bring to boil, simmer for another 10 minutes, and turn in off while it is still hot add honey. Put aside and before you drink, add lemon juice. Drink it while it is still warm, twice a day — the best time to take it when the symptom first appear.

Thank you so much for reading; please stay healthy, drink lots of water, and stay in touch!
Much Love,
