Poached Pears With Brown Sugar & Coconut Milk Sauce

Poahed Pears With Brown Sugar and coconut milk sauce

Poached Pears are delicious desserts; they look fancy, elegant, and effortless. If you check Pinterest, you will find the dessert comes with many recipes, such as Poached pears with red wine sauce, vanilla, and Cinnamon sauce, and the most exciting ingredients are Chai and Whiskey Poached Pears. Unfortunately, as impressive as it is, I haven't got the chance to try it; I'm curious about the taste of chai mixed with whiskey; I'm sure it is delicious, and believe me, one of these days, I'll try the recipe for sure.

It's been a while since I've wanted to make a new recipe for these delightful-looking Poached Pears. Finally, I came up with my recipe and got inspiration from one of Indonesia's delectable desserts, Kolak. It has coconut milk and plantains banana, so I thought if I paired coconut milk with pear, it would be tasty. And since this is the Fall season, sweet and Juicy pears are in abundance — time to take pear to a different level of adventures. And make it more flavorsome by letting it soak in Brown sugar and Coconut milk sauce.

And I was right! Adding coconut milk to the Poached Pear recipe is just a marvelous idea; with a bit of twist here and there and add-on ingredients, the dessert comes up delicious and creamy. The tender pears are poached in brown sugar, cinnamon, and Vanilla bean. Finally, drizzling it with coconut brown sugar sauce will amuse your taste bud.

Since Thanksgiving is coming, it'll be a perfect dessert for this special occasion. So let your family and friends take on their palate journey to an exotic mouth-watering indulgent dessert.

Poached Pears with brown sugar and coconut milk sauce

Ingredients

1 stick of cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

6 small, firm, ripe Anjou pears, peeled

Pinch of salt

1.5 cups of Brown sugar

2 cups of water

250 ml of coconut cream

Instruction:

  1. Combine Cinnamon, Vanilla, and 1 cup Brown sugar in a saucepan large enough for the pears. Bring the mixture to a simmer, occasionally stirring until it all mixes. Add the pear and simmer for 20 minutes, occasionally turning, until the pears are tender. Remove the pears from the liquid and allow them to cool down. You can adjust the sweetness as you like.

  2. Continue to simmer the liquid; add a half cup of the sugar and keep simmering until it thickens and is reduced by half, about 15 to 20 minutes. Next, add the coconut milk to keep continually stirring until it's boiling, and remove it to cool at room temperature.

  3. Place each pear on a small serving plate, drizzle with coconut sauce, and enjoy it with vanilla or vanilla ice cream.
